Who We Are
The Free Speech Union is a non-partisan, mass-membership public interest body that stands up for the speech rights of its 42,500+ members and campaigns for free speech more widely. We provide a wide range of support, from arranging legal representation to giving media advice, to assisting with employment disputes to giving pastoral support.
We want to win individual disputes for our members and change the law to better protect freedom of speech. Over the last six years we have fought more than 5,700 cases and taken the Government to the High Court. We are a small, dedicated team that punches well above its weight — and we are growing.

Current Vacancies
Director of Nations (Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland)
Lead the FSU's presence across Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland — developing policy responses to devolved legislation, growing membership in each nation, organising events, and representing the FSU in the media.
Head of Membership Communications
A central operational role responsible for membership communications, onboarding, renewals and retention. You will manage high-volume member correspondence, coordinate welcome and fulfilment processes, and line-manage the Membership Services Assistant.
