In another victory for public pressure and legal reason, Angela Rayner quietly backed away from Labour’s controversial attempt to redefine Islamophobia… for now. After legal threats and widespread backlash, common sense prevailed and has bought a bit of time. It was a telling moment, not just of Labour’s increasingly fraught relationship with free speech, but also of the public’s power to push back against ideological overreach. People power!
