Edinburgh Summer Speakeasy

July 21, 2022 at 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm UTC+0

Join us in The Speakeasy, upstairs at The Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh, for an informal meet-up of FSU members and others concerned about freedom of speech. We’ll be there from 7pm, with a special guest speaker, Professor Adam Tomkins, at 7.40pm, followed by a Q and A until 8.15pm and social until 10pm. Professor Tomkins will discuss why “There is no right not to be offended” .

Adam Tomkins is a Professor of Law at the University of Glasgow, and served as an MSP from 2016-21. He is writing a new book on the law of free speech. He is a columnist for The Herald and a member of the Free Speech Union’s Scottish Advisory Council.

Members are welcome to invite guests but please encourage them to join the Free Speech Union! They can find more information about what we do here.

You need to register to attend, but there’s no need to print your ticket.
